Geraldine Abbott King

Funeral services for Geraldine Abbott King will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont. Officiating will be Reverend Clarence Day and Reverend James Boykin. Her grandsons, great-grandsons, and other family members will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Jerry was born January 31, 1922 in Beaumont to Solomon and Maggie Reiff Nantz. She was a homemaker who loved her family dearly.
She is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, James S. Abbott; her second husband, Aaron King as well as her parents; sisters, Zona Ehret, Maude Robinson, Gladys Rollins Brown and Eloise Branham and brothers, Dean, Lee and Cecil Nantz, Russell and George Robinson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Beverly Ann Martinez and the father of her children, Louis E. Martinez, Sr. and sons, Dr. James "Ron" Abbott and wife, Lillian, and Donald Lynn Abbott and wife, Sharon. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rhonda Lynne Campbell, Louis "Skip" E. Martinez, Jr., Stephanie Ann Martinez, Mary Abbott Poag, Sally Ann Abbott, Anne E. Abbott Bucher, James Wesley Abbott, Reena Cook, Sheri Ford and Sandy Griffin. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren, James Weston Campbell, Matthew, Justin, Meagan and Jamie Martinez, Cody, Dustin, and D.J. Cook, James Daniel, Abigail and Lillian Poag, Amber Riggs and Cessily Maki and sister-in-law, Edith Nantz.
