Born in Beaumont, on August 6, 1927, Geraldine was the daughter of L.B. and Loretta Elliott. She graduated St. Anthony High School, & on July 5, 1952, was married to the love of her life, William L. (Bill) Linker. They spent many years having great times together, including the early years when they were members of the A.M.A. (American Motorcycle Association) Beaumont Motorcycle Club, & The Black Cat Motorcycle Club of Beaumont. During this time, they traveled many miles together on their beloved Indian Chief, quoting a Sunday Beaumont Enterprise feature article, traveling down the highway at 60 MPH “with the girl at the wheel.” As the years passed, they spent countless hours with family & friends at their beach cabin in Gilchrist, where there was always a pot of gumbo, shrimp, or crabs waiting for anyone. She did much volunteer work. Throughout the mid to late 70’s she worked as the chairperson of the ICE Building/Hobby Division of The South Texas State Fair. Later she became a volunteer at Beaumont Medical Surgical (Now Memorial Herman Baptist) Hospital, there spending over 4600 hours where she held the positions of director of junior volunteers, assistant director of volunteers, and director of volunteers.
Geraldine is survived by her son, William L. “Bill” Linker and wife Mary of Beaumont; sister, Lee Ferrara of Missouri City; nieces Cathy Louvier, Sandra Louvier, and Karen Jafari all of Houston, as well as dear family friend, Joe Jarmon of Beaumont.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
