Gilbert Henry Myers, 93, of Orange, died on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Harbor House in Beaumont.
Born in Matthews, Missouri, on September 26, 1920, he was the son of Henry George and Mary Lou (Webb) Myers. Gilbert served in the US Navy in World War II and Korea. He was a supervisor at DuPont Beaumont Works. He started square dancing and round dancing in 1978, and later taught and cued round dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Essie Petitt; and brothers, Artie Myers and Cloy Myers
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Odeyene (Herrington) Myers; daughter, Carol Dee Ware and husband Craig of Orangefield; son, Byron Gilbert Myers and wife Sharon of Bridge City; grandchildren, Charlsi Legendre and husband Brent, Melissa Isaacs and husband Craig, Richelle Landry and husband Josh, Ashley Baker and husband Everette, Jeremy Ware and wife Michelle; and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Lexi, Clarissa, Morgan, Carissa, and Pax.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Legendre, Byron Myers, Craig Isaacs, Jeremy Ware, Josh Landry, and Everette Baker, with Craig Ware serving as honorary pallbearer.
