A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Jozye Cemetery in Madisonville, Texas with Glen Iris Capo, 91, of Beaumont was born December 5, 1923 in Madisonville, Texas to Kirk E. and Martha (Tuck) Bullard and passed away May 27, 2015 in Silsbee, Texas.

Glen was reared in the small community of Madisonville where, with her 8 brothers and sisters, she learned the values of family, faith, honesty and hard work. Regardless of where life led her, Glen’s heart resided in Madisonville.

Following graduation from high school in Madisonville, Glen attended Beauty School to become a licensed beautician. She worked as a beautician with her two older sisters in Bryan / College Station.

After WWII began, she decided to support the war effort by training as a machinist and began working for Hughes Tool and Die in Houston, Texas. Wanting to further support her country during this national emergency, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on October 28, 1943. She proudly served her country, along with three of her brothers, until being honorably discharged on November 27, 1945 as a Corporal.

In 1948, she married Coley Capo and lived most of their married lives in Beaumont and Madisonville…with brief excursions to Pampa, Athens and Lumberton.

Glen was a devoted member of Woodland Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She was a talented seamstress, crafter and a wonderful cook who possessed a determination and “can do” attitude about so many things in life … except driving.

Though not always easy, her life was filled with a deep love of her country, her family, her church and … Madisonville. She was blessed with all that truly matters. She was a devoted, selfless, generous, loving mother, grandmother and mom-in-law.

Glen was preceded in death by her husband, Coley and her 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her children, Coleen and John Everitt, Cheryl and Wayne Koenig, Chuck and Laura Capo, Mike & Lisa Capo, Kirk and Vonda Capo; grandchildren, Alaina and Aaron Gilbrech, Jason and Lorie Everitt, Brian and Casey Everitt, Kelli and John Potthoff, Corey Koenig, Matthew Capo, Jacy Robb, Jamie Capo, James and Kelsey Eshliman, Amanda and Lou Robinette, Kelsey Capo, Jordan Capo, Jacob Capo; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Everitt, McKynlie Everitt, Madilyn Everitt, Erin & Emma Potthoff, Bradyn Robinette, Jacey Eshliman.

Special thanks to the staff of Silsbee Oaks for their wonderful care, Reverend Jim Sliger (her “Jarhead” marine preacher), the members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and most especially, Dorothy and Tim Edgar for their very special ministry and friendship.
