She graduated from Cale High School and soon after married the love of her life, Bill Edd Dixon, Sr. They then moved to Orange, Texas where they raised their two sons, Bill Jr. and Obie. After the two boys began school, Glenda was encouraged to go to college to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher. She enrolled in Lamar Tech College where she was able to graduate with a degree in Elementary Education in 1968. She was very happy to be able to teach 1st and 2nd grades at Lorena Oates Elementary and Salk Elementary for a total of 25 years. After retiring, Glenda and Bill Edd spent their retirement years in the RV world with their trailer and motor home. They met great friends as their travels took them to Nova Scotia, to Alaska, the Rio Grande Valley and all points in between. Their greatest joy was spending time with their grandchildren. Glenda was a longtime member of McDonald Baptist Church and an active member of the Orange County Retired Teachers.
Glenda was preceded in death by husband Bill Dixon, Sr., her parents Eugene Loe and Ollie Mae Loe House, sisters Jeannie Riddling and Lavelle Beck, brothers Olen Loe and David Loe, and daughter-in-law Susan Dixon and niece Shannon Pruitt.
Those left to cherish memories of Glenda are sons Bill Dixon, Jr and wife Mary of Bridge City, Obie Dixon and wife Melinda of Shawnee, Kansas, sister, Martha Cockrill of Sulphur, Louisiana. Her grandchildren are Scott Dixon, Joel Dixon and wife Sarah, Will Dixon and wife Melissa, Jacob Reynolds and wife Orianna, and Lindsay Gasperino.
