Glenn Moran

Glenn Moran, 89, of Orange, Texas, passed away December 1, 2009, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

He is preceded in death by his father, Glenn Moran; his mother, Myrtle Bell McCracken Moran; and sister-in-law, Lois Moran.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Fruge Moran; son, Dr. Glenn T. Moran and wife, Jackie of Meridian, Idaho; daughter, Sherry Lester and husband, Thomas of Orange; and brother, Montie Moran of Bridge City.

Glenn is also survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca Moran of Iceland, Andrew Moran of Portland, Oregon, Natalie Hayes of West Lake, Louisiana, Keith Lester of Orange, Dr. Kenneth Lester of Houston and David Lester of Austin; great-grandchildren, Ashley Clark of Houston, Krystal Lester of Orange and Amber Lester of Orange; nephew, Rex Moran of Houston; and niece, Sharon Ray Moran of Vidor.

Glenn was born on January 4, 1920, on a farm in Quanah, Texas. He graduated from Quanah High School, served in the Army during World War II, and was employed by DuPont Sabine River Works for 30 years. Glenn loved flowers as evident by his yard, which was always in bloom. His love of travel took him to every state in the U.S.A. as well as Canada and Mexico. He enjoyed flea marketing and square dancing and was also a member of the Merry Mixers.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Reverend Sid Thorne officiating. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. also on Sunday at the funeral home.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Rex Moran, David Lester, Dr. Kenneth Lester, Keith Lester, Larry D. Leger and Michael Hayes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Moran, Lenny Benoit and Jimmy Fetters.
