Glenn Edward Orr, Jr.

Glenn Edward Orr, Jr., 84, a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and resident of Orange, Texas, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Damon Bickham, pastor of First Baptist Church Deweyville, Reverend Lee Walker, pastor of Caddo Valley Baptist Church, and Mr. Jonathan Weldon.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday, prior to the funeral service.
Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on October 5, 1927, Edward was the son of Glenn Edward Orr and Earline Montague Orr. His love of the Lord Jesus Christ led him to serve as a Deacon and teacher in the Baptist church for over 50 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Edward was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He worked as an Engineer for Bell South for 37 years, spending most of that time in Metairie, Louisiana. He was a big man with a big heart.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn E. Orr; and sister, Phyllis Orr Komp.
Edward is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret M. Orr; four children, Glenn Edward Orr, III and wife, Sherry of Orange, David Montague Orr of Watts, Oklahoma, Phyllis Orr Walker and husband, Lee of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and Mary Orr Weldon and husband, Gerry of Orange; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
