On May 30, 2014, Goldie Louise Lindsey Buker went to her heavenly home while surrounded by her loving family: Valerie Keneson (Bradley) of Vidor; Ralph Buker (Geneva) of Orange; and Vickie Doucet of Melbourne, Florida, as well as extended family and friends.
Goldie Louise was born on December 26, 1923 in Dunbar, West Virginia to the late Herbert William Lindsey and Minnie May Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Henry Lindsey and Carl Ray Lindsey, Sr. and her sisters Elizabeth Joanna Jenkins and Linda L. Lindsey Ferguson. She moved from her home in Dunbar, West Virginia in August of 1966 to make her home in the great State of Texas.
Goldie Louise is survived by her sisters, Freda Crewdson of Tampa, Florida and Eva Garrett of Raleigh, North Carolina, and her brothers Thomas Lindsey (Mary) of Melbourne, Florida and Joseph Douglas Lindsey (Jeanie) of Nitro, West Virginia. She graduated from Dunbar High School in 1941.
In 1947, Goldie Louise married the love of her life, Lorenzo Emery Buker. Besides Goldie Louise's three children, she was blessed with seven grandchildren: Ryan A. Buker (Cathy) of Orange; Derrick E. Cantu (Aubrey) of San Antonio; Bradley J. Keneson II (Amy) of Forth Worth; Keith R. Buker (Judith) of Dallas; Katelyn B. Keneson of Vidor, Texas, Rachel Messick and David Doucet (Amy). She was also blessed with five great grandchildren: William E. Messick of Vidor; Stella Doucet of Orlando, Florida; Landry E. Cantu of San Antonio; Tanner A. Buker of Dallas; and Emily L. Buker of Orange.
Goldie Louise was a member of First United Methodist Church in Orange, Texas and the Sunset Grove Country Club. She was a dear woman who gave her all and excelled in many things, including the sports of bowling and golf for many years. Those who knew her felt loved and valued, and she was seldom without a smile on her face.
