Grace Gilchriest Buckley
Grace Gilchriest Buckley, 91 of Beaumont, passed away peacefully unto her Lord, May 31, 2007.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 in the Charles S. Kelley Memorial Chapel at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with Pastor Warren Wargo of Lamar Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas.
Her family will receive guests from 3-5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born September 13, 1915 in Center, Texas to Milam and Nola Carpenter Gilchriest. She resided in Beaumont the last sixty-one years of her life, but considered Sabine County Hemphill, Texas her true home and raised her children in the Campground community near Milam, Texas. Mrs. Buckley was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Wisteria Chapter in Beaumont and was a certified school teacher. She retired from Sears & Roebuck Co. as a division manager and was a charter member and former secretary of her beloved Lamar Baptist Church.
Grace is preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-seven years, Ivy Davidson Buckley and granddaughter, DeJuana Colleen Buckley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne Young and Delores Buckley of Beaumont and Huey Gerald and Patricia Buckley of Vidor; sister-in-law, Rosie Gilchriest of Nederland; grandchildren, Vicki Buckley Bentley, Terry Duane Buckley, Mark James Buckley, Guy Michael Buckley, Linda Buckley Stanbrough, and William Gerald Buckley; great-grandchildren, Duane Young Buckley, Jason Michael Buckley, Christi Colleen Bentley, Brittany Danielle Buckley, Joseph Bryce Bentley, Morgan Grace Buckley, Matthew Dethlefsen, Mark Dethlefsen, Andrew James Ashley, and Carl Avery Stanbrough; great-great grandchildren, Kaitlyn May Buckley, Gavin Kain Buckley, and Ethan Michael Buckley.
Absent from the body, present with the Lord we know our mother is well in peace with her Lord and Savior. Her family extends a special thank you to a dear friend, Julia Hunt in Silsbee, Texas.
