Grady “David” Johnson
David Johnson, 73, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on May 20, 2017, in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Ronnie Johnson. Burial will follow the service at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Center, Texas, on December 20, 1943, he was the son of Grady and Peggy Johnson. David graduated from West Orange High School, as well as East Texas Baptist College and Lamar University. He worked as a chief Chemist at Texaco and as a teacher at West Orange. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church Choir, enjoyed singing at nursing homes, and singing karaoke. David enjoyed spending his time playing golf. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Johnson and Peggy Finklea Johnson.
Grady is survived by his children, Paul Johnson, Chris Johnson, and Kimberly Russell and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Shelby Dale Johnson, Grady Johnson, and Audrey Johnson; siblings, Ronnie Johnson and wife Nancy, Ken Johnson and wife, Kathy, Elaine Reeder and husband Tommy, and Stephen Johnson; and by his dog, Angel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 ST. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Mr. David would come and volunteer @ Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves. He and Mr. Bevil sings for us every last Wednesday of the month. Everyone here at Oak Grove will miss him dearly. All the residents and workers. <3 <3 <3 Bobbie Buss activity director
