Grady Laverne Smith, 58 of Port Arthur passed away Monday, September 9, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bill Collier, pastor at Liberty Baptist Church in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. Serving as Pallbearers will be Kent Dosch, Kenneth Smith, John Smith, Jordan Guidry, Brandon Barton and Spencer Smith. Honorary Pallbearer will be Charlie Smith Guidry.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home in Bride City.

Born in Port Arthur on January 5, 1955, Grady was the son of Heubert U. and Rachel (Fitzgerald) Smith. He served in the U.S. Air Force, was an Operator at Texaco and had resided at the Rose House in Port Arthur.

Grady was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Diana Marie Guidry. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Denise Smith of San Rayburn and Kenneth and Connie Smith of Bridge City; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
