Gregory "Greg" Wayne Smith
5/5/1961 — 4/5/2023
A Life Remembered
Obituary
Greg’s kids and grandkids were his greatest blessings and loved to hear his name “Poppa”. Greg was a loving and committed father, always showing up at everything for his kids. He was always there the minute one of the kids called needing help around the house or their cars. Greg enjoyed fishing with his grandkids at the pond on their property, showing them the garden, and riding them around on the tractor. Greg was an avid gardener and beekeeper. You could always see him on either the four-wheeler or zero turn lawn mower that he was adamant he didn’t need at first.
Survivors include his wife, Terry Smith, of Orange, TX; children, Justin Ray Smith and his wife, Christi, of Orangefield; Corey Wayne Smith and his wife, Amber, of Port Neches; Zachary Laine Smith and his significant other, Brooke, of Spring; mother, Marie Smith, of Lufkin; brother, Brian Smith and his wife, Karen of Lufkin; brother, Mark Smith and his wife, Kristi, of Atascocita; and grandchildren, Rayleigh Smith; Hunter Smith; Dilyn Smith; Nolan Smith; and Laine Smith.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Smith and brother, Dennis Smith.
