Harlan L. Knox, 87, of Orange, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Orange.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Deacon Willie Posey officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Born in Corrigan on December 15, 1922, Harlan was the son of Elmer Lee Knox and Minnie Beatrice Alexander Knox. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII was a supervisor for Allied Chemical in Orange. Harlan was a member and Deacon at MacArthur Heights Baptist Church and a life member of P.T.A. He was an avid Texas Longhorn fan and loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Harlan loved his grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer L. Knox; mother, Beatrice Knox; step-mother, Vera Knox; and brothers, Corky Knox and Jack Knox.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Agnes Knox of Orange; three sons, Michael Harlan Knox, Billy Jack Knox and his wife, Katheryn, and James Richard Knox all of Orange.
He is also survived by his five grandchildren, James Michael Knox and his wife, Dawn, Kelly Glen Knox and his wife, Heather, Diana Sorge and her husband, Tracy, Jamie Latiolais and her husband, Trevor and Tyler Evan Knox; nine great-grandchildren, Hunter Michael Knox, Trevor John Knox, Talon Lee Knox, Kendal Edward Knox, Ellisa Nicole Knox, Kale Jackson Knox, Kinley Elizabeth Knox, Harlie Joe Sorge and Codie Katheryn Sorge; sister, Evelyn Mullins of Deer Park; and brother, Ellis Lee Knox of Pittsburg, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be James Michael Knox, Kelly Glen Knox, Tyler Evan Knox, Tracy Sorge, Ray Long and Kenneth Knox
