Born in Orange, Texas, on August 13, 1947, he was the son of Harold Curtis Whitton, Sr. and Alice Ruth (Caffey) Whitton. Harold was a veteran of the United States National Guard and Army Reserves. He retired from International Paper formerly known as Temple Inland Paper Mill and was a part of the International Brotherhood of the Electrical Workers Local 479 for 44 years. Harold was a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church and loved his church family like his own. He was an exceptional fisherman and won many trophies over the years, as well as a member of several fishing clubs. Harold would also mentor many anglers young and old. His family was his everything. He made sure to be at all the grandkids events and was “Pawpaw” to everyone. Harold awarded all 5 grandchildren the Pawpaw & Granny college scholarship, ensuring each grandchild was able to graduate debt free. He enjoyed having a good Whataburger breakfast with his friends and loved going on vacations and dinners with all his special friends. Nothing could replace his memories over the years at Toledo Bend. There were 3 things he enjoyed doing, fishing, golfing and mowing.....where he did his best thinking. He was truly an inspiration and hero to many and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Methodist Hospital in Houston, Olive Branch Hospice, as well as his daughters, Crystal and Allyson for all of their wonderful care and support. His daughters would like to recognize their mom, who provided exceptional care and was an advocate for his health care for so many years.
