Hazel Embler, 87, was born December 6, 1925 in Lavonia, GA to Bartow and Rose Wright Minyard and passed away June 30, 2013 in Beaumont. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, July 5th at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 4th at the funeral home.
Mrs. Embler was a long-time resident of Beaumont, working as a certified nurse’s aide for many years. Hazel was also a member of the Eastern Star and involved with the Daughters of the Revolution.
She is survived by her sons, Mike and Diana Embler and Walter and Annette Embler; grandchildren; Jennifer, Jonathan, Tyler and Stephen Embler and Kylee Capell, Lindsey Azelkas, Courtney Embler, Brianna Tyler; 6 great-grandchildren; her brother, Lamar Minyard, half-sister, Pat Drake; her extended family, Blythe Squires, Gem Dorris, Crystal Shellnut, Jeffrey Shellnut, Cindi Embler, Lori Compton, Kathy Embler, Gail Buchan and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Morris E. Embler, second husband, L.D. "Don" Baggett, son, Stephen Earl Embler, parents, sisters, Mary Minyard and Peggy Morris and her half-brother, Gary Brown.
