Hazel Ann Norris, 84, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 27, 2023, at home.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born on September 6, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa, she was the daughter of William Perry King and Margaret Josephine (Rose) King. Hazel was known for her strong work ethic and spent most of her years dedicated to various pursuits. Whether it was in the professional sphere or within the community, she approached everything with utmost commitment and determination. Throughout her life, Hazel had a great love for reading old western novels. A distinct hobby that brought joy to Hazel's life was collecting lighthouses. In her leisure hours, Hazel delighted in the thrill of watching NASCAR races and wrestling matches. Puzzles and crossword books were activities she cherished, pushing herself to unravel mysteries and exercise her intellect. Taking regular walks allowed Hazel not only to stay active but also gave her the opportunity to meet new people along the way. She approached every interaction with genuine interest, eager to learn from others' stories and share snippets of her own life experiences. Hazel will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her hardworking nature, love for literature, passion for collecting, and enjoyment of sports and puzzles will forever be remembered. May her soul find eternal peace, and may we continue to honor and celebrate the incredible life she lived.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret King; children, Gregory Vincent, Theresa Haney, Stanley Havard, Owen Havard, and Curtis Paul Havard; siblings, Willa Lopez, May, Charlotte, and other brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Donnie Vincent and wife Barbara, Joy Smart, Gerald Vincent, Trinity Havard and husband, Josh, Thad Vincent and spouse; grandchildren, Kim Bankester, Eli Bankester, Matthew Havard, Curtis Paul Havard, Jr., Tamieka Strange, Heather Lee, Cody Ryan Vincent, Matthew Vincent, Mark Vincent, Madison Havard, and other grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, William King and wife, Betsy; and numerous other family and friends.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
