Hazel Collier Senters, 89, of Beaumont went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in Beaumont.
She was born in Polk County October 31, 1921 to Rae and Joe Burton Collier, Jr. and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1939. She married Clyde Senters in 1940, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his death in 2001. They worked together many years in their family business, Senters Furniture Co., before retiring. Hazel was a faithful member of Sabine Tabernacle for 79 years, taking care of the church nursery and catering weddings.
She was a devoted and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, always ready to drop what she was doing to help a family member or a friend.
She is survived by her son, Glenn Senters and wife, Barbara; daughter, Brenda Sutton and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Tonya and Dr. Charles Moses, Todd and Dawn Senters, Robert Sutton, and Amy and Josh McCullough; five great grandchildren; and brother, Jack Scouten of Hillsboro, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Senters; parents; and brother, Joe Collier.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 23, 2011 at 2:00p.m. at Sabine Tabernacle with Rev. James Boykin and Rev. Clarence Day officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
