Hazel Mae Murphy McNamara Waggoner

Hazel Mae Murphy McNamara Waggoner, 86, a lifelong resident of Orange, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2010, at her home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Reverend Jeff Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Born in Orange, Texas on October 29, 1923, Ms. Waggoner was the daughter of Dan and Ollie Michael Murphy, but was reared by her grandparents, Oliver and Maudie Morris Michael. She served in the U.S. Navy WAVES from 1942 to 1945 in WWII.

Ms. Waggoner retired from Chevron as a Plant Manager Secretary for 32 years. She was a member of the Orange Boating Club, loved to travel, bowl, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Thomas McNamara and Jack Waggoner; twin sons, Tim and Terry McNamara; twin sister, Helen Roberts; brothers, O.B. "Rip" Murphy, C. Kurviest Kirby Murphy and David Peasley.

Ms. Waggoner is survived by her step-daughter, Pat Hufstetler and her husband, James of Orange; sister, Sharla Goodyear and her husband, Jerry of Orange; numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Chris Morris, Cody McNamara, Curtis Peasley, Ronald Goodyear, Jonathan Murphy and Matt Murphy. Honorary Pallbearer will be Oliver Peasley.
