Helen Joyce Mitchell, "Maw-Maw", was welcomed into God's loving arms on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
She was born in Alabama to Lester and Minnie Flurry on April 1, 1934, and resided in Beaumont for the past 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Floyd "Mitch" Mitchell, son, Robert, parents and loving sister, Beth Boone.
Celebrating her life are daughters, Faye Hofferth, with husband, Dave, and Robin Kehoe, of New Jersey, 3 grandchildren, Lara McCullough with husband, Michael, of Lumberton and Lindsey and Kelli Kehoe of Berlin, New Jersey, 4 great-grandchildren, Kyle Lynd, Kade, Quinn and Evyn McCullough, also of Lumberton. Also mourning the loss of their beloved sister are, Nita Hall and her husband, Edward, Marcus Flurry and his wife, Barbara, Curtis Flurry and his wife, Jan and Paul Flurry and their families.
Joyce will be missed by her church family at West End Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years and many others who loved her.
The family wishes to thank her doctors and the nurses at Baptist ICU for their care and support.
Cremation is under the direction of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with a scattering of her ashes at a future date.
