Funeral services for Helen McCullough Odom, of Beaumont, will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel with Reverend Benjamin West, associate pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday prior to the service. Helen’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
Helen was born in DeRidder, Louisiana and passed away in Beaumont on June 5, 2014. She was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist church and worked for many years as a bank teller in several area financial institutions.
Helen was gifted in many areas. She was a very talented painter. Her fields of bluebonnets and landscapes were very special. She was a seamstress and loved quilting and crocheting. Helen also collected Andrea birds and took thousands of slides and photographs. She was a devoted grandmother who loved times spent with “her boys.”
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life of 57 years, Joseph Edward Odom, Jr.; her parents, A.H. McCullough, Sr. and Nora (Sudduth) McCullough; sister, Marguerite McCullough and brothers, A. H. “Mack” McCullough and Grady Lawrence McCullough.
She is survived by her son, Donald Edward Odom and his wife, Janeen Aldredge Odom; grandsons, Brett Odom, Trent Odom, Donnie Odom and Jay Odom; and great-grandsons, C.J. Odom, Eric Odom, Grant Odom and Logan Gould.
