Helen E. VanArsdale, 68, died unexpectedly January 12, 2022, at Southeast Texas Medical Center. She was born January 12, 1954, in St. John’s Newfoundland, daughter of Charlie E. and Eileen (Jones) Fowler.

She was married to Johnny Ray VanArsdale and worked at Potter and Wicker and Kroger’s in Orange as a florist and a cake decorator for many years before becoming a stay at home mom to Amy M. Fowler.

She was a loving mom, sister, aunt, and maw maw and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Ray VanArsdale; father, Charlie Sr. and mother, Eileen (Jones) Fowler; sister, Tina Fowler; and brother, Garry Fowler.

She leaves behind her survivors, daughter, Amy M. Fowler of Orangefield; granddaughter, Rachelle L. Fowler and fiancé Daymon LaPointe of Bridge City; two great grandsons, Cameron Fowler and Lucas LaPointe of Bridge City; brothers, Lawrence Fowler of Orangefield, Ronald Fowler of Orangefield, Donald Fowler and wife Crystal of Orangefield and Charlie Fowler, Jr. and wife Vicki of Bridge City; along with numerous nieces and nephews and even more great nieces and great nephews.

The viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m., followed by a service of remembrance at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 14, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Interment will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery at 2312 Irving St. West Orange, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lawrence Fowler, Donald Fowler, Charlie Fowler, Jr., Lil Charlie Fowler, Billy Fowler, Donnie Fowler, Kenneth Fowler, Dalton Fowler and Caleb Weise.
