Henry Paul Vercher, Sr.

Henry Paul Vercher, Sr., 83, of Orange, died Friday, April 24, 2009, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Reverend Joseph P. Daleo serving as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Claybar Funeral Home. Another visitation will begin at 5p.m. Tuesday followed by the recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m., also at the funeral home.
Henry Paul was born on January 12, 1926 in Orange. He was the son of Dennis Vercher, Sr. and Elitha Broussard Vercher.
Henry Paul was employed for 37 ½ years as a Production Foreman at Dupont Sabine River Works. He served in the European Theater during World War II, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, VFW Post 2775 and was a former member of the Merry Mixers Square Dance Club. He loved to travel, fish and do yard work.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Mae "Dottie" Vercher of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Henry Paul Vercher, Jr, and Linda of West Orange; grandsons, Robert Michael Vercher, Jason Paul Vercher and wife Robin, and great-grandsons Cullen David Maglothin, Connor Christian Maglothin, Camden Patrick Vercher and Calder Sebastian Vercher.
Serving as pallbearers will be Henry Paul's grandsons, Jason Vercher and Robert Vercher; his nephews, Sammy Wilson and Billy Wilson; Jimmy Verrett and Brian McCorvy.
Honorary pallbearers will be G. M. Broussard, brother-in-law of Henry Paul and Oscar "Red" Davis, a dear family friend.
