Herbert Jessy Beers
Herbert Jessy Beers, 82, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 16, 2023, in Salmon, Idaho.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Father Antony Paulose. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 223, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Los Angeles, California, on October 30, 1940, he was the son of Herbert James Beers and Helen Gray Beers. He was a generous and kindhearted man who loved his family with all of his heart. Herbert loved playing with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Pawpaw”, and making sure his wife, Shirley, was always taken care of. He was a member of the Lion’s Club for over 20 years, and was also a long time member of the St Charles Catholic Church in Salmon, Idaho. Herbert was a hardworking man and had run his own Insurance agency since 1979. He also had many hobbies he enjoyed doing in his spare time, such as travelling and raising animals, doing anything outdoors, especially being on the water in a boat. Herbert loved bartering and trading for the interesting things he collected and was well known as the man who could fix absolutely anything. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Helen Beers; and his sister, Carolyn Miller.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Shirley Beers; his daughter, Nicole Michelle Johnson and husband Troy of Orange, Texas; his son, Shawn Zachary Beers and wife Valerie of Orange, Texas; his grandchildren, Camren Andrew Ervin, Caleb Blaise Walker, Isabella Ann Walker, Wyatt Beers, and Cora Beers; his great-grandchild, Callen Andrew Ervin; his brother, Danny Beers; his sister, Dianna Vyne and husband Robert; and his brother-in-law, Paul Miller; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
