Hilda May Ellender, 79, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on June 15, 2023, in Beaumont, Texas.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, June 23,, 2023, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on January 6, 1944, she was the daughter of George Clinton Ellender and Floy May Ellender. Hilda loved her job as a nurse, working in psych, critical care, case management and home health. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, spending time in nature, and doing crafts. Hilda had a strong sense of humor, lighting up any room and filling it with laughter. She loved her pets deeply, and her grandson, Jordan, was the light of her life. Hilda was a compassionate mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents George Clinton Ellender and Floy May Ellender; and sibling Sylvia Aldridge.

She is survived by her daughter, Marlaina Bridges and husband, Joseph, of Kirbyville; her grandson, Jordan Bridges and wife, Diesha, Athens; her great-grandchildren, Dakota, Karrington, Jaethen, Jaedence, Lauryn, Journee, Jaxxton; and her brohers, Frank Ellender of China, and E.L. Ellender, Jr and wife, Mary Helen, of Vidor.
