Horace J. Cormier, 82, of Orange, died Sunday, September 23, 2007.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 27, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange.
Reverend Joseph P. Daleo will officiate. Burial to follow at St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, all day Wednesday. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.
Mr. Cormier was born April 17, 1925, in Church Point, LA, to Joseph Cormier and Estelle Comeaux Cormier.
Mr. Cormier was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, West Orange City Council for 20 years. He served on the board of St. Mary?s Cemetery and Orange County School Board.
Mr. Cormier was preceded in death by his
parents, Joseph and EstelleCormier, son Charles Cormier and sister, Ella Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Cormier, daughter Barbara Ann Becker and husband Thomas Arriola of Starks, LA, son, Randy Cormier and wife Tiny of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Grant Becker, Jr. and wife Carla, John Becker and wife Cher, Elaine Jackson and husband Jerry, Michelle Wilkerson and husband, Trey, Shara Cantrell and husband Josh; great grandchildren, Grant Becker III, Maegan Jackson, Geri Jackson, Malorie Becker, Sheldon Becker, Kacee Becker, Annabeth Wilkerson, Josh Shirley, Candace Shirley and Austin Shirley; brother Joseph Cormier and wife Velma, sister Lou Slater and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Grant Becker Jr., John Becker, Jerry Jackson, Grant Becker III, Trey Wilkerson and Alfred ?PeeWee? Adams. His nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
