Howard Allen Schur

Howard Allen Schur, 78, of Bridge City, passed away, Friday, March 21, 2008, at his residence.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Deacon Eddie Blankenstein will officiate.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Howard was born June 30, 1929, in Henderson, TX, to Homer and Jessie Margaret Lasseter Schur.
Howard served in the US Army during WWII. He was a Boilermaker for Chevron. He was a member of the OCAW 2-223 Union and the American Legion Post 49.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Jessie Schur and sister, Virginia Nerney.
He is survived by his wife, Maudrey Schur, children and stepchildren, Richard Schur and wife Laura of Bridge City, Lynda Posten and husband David of Crawford, TX, Virginia Oceguera and husband Jesus of Bridge City, Keith Gregg and wife Debbie of Orange, Melinda Smith and husband Kenneth of Mauriceville, Renee Degeyter and husband Clinton of Bridge City; grandchildren, Jessica Timmons, Melissa Schur, Jay Posten, Adam Smith, Leslie Smith, Allison Gregg, Ashley Gregg, Eric Degeyter, Kristina Degeyter, Tyler Hyde, Cale Hyde and Zach Oceguera; great grandchildren, Hunter Stonebreaker and Lily Smith; and brothers, Fred Schur and wife Lynn of Henderson, TX, and Homer Haseloff of Vernon, TX.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Degeyter, Tyler Hyde, Cale Hyde, Chad Nunez, Paul Piat and Cody Ballard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Posten, Hunter Stonebreaker, Zach Oceguera and Larry Davis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
