Ike Peveto, 92, of Pinehurst, died Monday, August 13, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in West Orange, with Reverend Danny Gilliam and Reverend Clifton Rankin, officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City, with his grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange on March 11, 1915, Mr. Peveto was the son of Claude and Florrie Cochran Peveto.
He had worked with the CCC Camp, and retired from American Bridge in Orange.
He was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher.
Preceded in death by his wives, Dixie Roy Rumery Peveto and Mabel Funderburk Peveto; great granddaughter, Karissa Lee Shartle; brothers, Ruben Peveto, Oran Peveto; and sister, Bertha Huckaby, he is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Heard of Orange, Glinda and Leroy Gomez, Gail and Julian Meadows, of Pinehurst; grandchildren, Shannah Heard, Lisa and Mike Sparks, Johnnie Kay Harrell, Jenni and Wade Shartle, Dixie and Clifton Rankin, Lee Gomez, Eric Meadows, Chad and Susan Meadows.
Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Megan and Michael White, Kevin Sparks, Karlie Harrell, Katie Harrell, Josh and Kera Rankin, Felicia Shartle, Carlton Shartle, Reed Rankin, Caleb Rankin; and great great grandchildren, Kesh Rankin, Koen Rankin, Kya Rankin,
