Imogene Sorge Bland, 78, of Orange, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Orange.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Reverend David Green of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City will officiate. Interment will follow at Mose Granger Cemetery in Orangefield.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Imogene was born December 15, 1929, in Mineola, TX, to Bruce Edward and Bell Eugenia Norris Sorge.
Imogene enjoyed working in her garden and loved to travel.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City, the Gator Sam RV Club, past president of the Orange Jaycee-ettes and a former member of the Lioness's.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Eugenia Sorge and sister Elaine Sorge.
She is survived by her husband, Henry T. Bland, Jr.; son, Larry Thomas Bland and wife Peggy of Humble, daughter, Deborah Ann Linscomb and husband Kenneth of Junction, TX; two grandchildren, Troy Pitcher and Travis Linscomb; great grandchild, Aslyn Pitcher; brother, Bobby Sorge and wife Linda; sister, Brucelle Baldwin and husband Miles all of Orange and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Linscomb, Troy Pitcher, Roy Cooper, Bruce Sorge, Cliff Sorge, Keven Sorge and Tracy Sorge.
Memorial contributions may be made in Imogene's name to The Society of St. Stephen at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City.
