J.B. Wilburn, 87, of Mauriceville, passed away on February 15, 2019, at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 25, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Kevin Brown. A graveside service and burial will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Shelby County.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Shelbyville, Texas, on May 16, 1931, he was the son of Hugh Jefferson Wilburn and Maudlee (Miller) Wilburn. J.B. served proudly in the United States Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #126 for over 50 years. He faithfully served his Lord at Mauriceville Baptist Church. J.B. retired from DuPont after 36 years of dedicated work as a mechanic. He loved fishing & hunting, but most of all, spending time with his family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at Southeast Texas Hospice for the wonderful care they provided J.B.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Yvonne Wilburn; his infant son, Joseph Byron; sister, Evonne Wilburn; and granddaughter, Carmen Bick.
He is survived by his children, Steve Wilburn and wife Glenda of Orange, Lajuan Anders of Vidor, Mack Wilburn and wife June of Orangefield, and Keith Wilburn and wife Sandra of Vidor; grandchildren, Buck, Jamie, Keenon, and Leighann; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Peyton, Khloe, Logan, Gunner, and Emilee; and sister, Sarah Cruse and Dana; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Buck Stephens, Keenon Wilburn, Randy Daigle, Chet Dupuis, Rick Edwards, and Jim Brackin. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Trevor Dunbar.
