J.H. Oswalt
J.H. Oswalt, 84, of Orange, Texas, left his worldly home on August 22, 2023.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Bobby Edwards. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Jay was born November 26, 1938, in Huxley, Texas to Aaron and Joy Oswalt. Jay and Pat were members of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, Texas. Jay was a retired Pipefitter out of Local 195. Jay enjoyed anything outdoors. He loved fishing and gardening. He was a great servant, provider, loving husband and father. He was a leader and was respected by all of his family. He was the rock and the fixer. The one that everyone depended on to do what was right and to be in the will of the Lord. Most importantly, Jay and Pat raised their children in church, teaching them to know and love the Lord. Jay was a fierce prayer warrior. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends that knew him and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Oswalt, his father and mother, Aaron and Joy Oswalt and brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Oswalt.
He is survived by three sons and one daughter, Keith Oswalt and wife Amy of Huxley. Steve Oswalt and wife Kim of Center. Randy Oswalt and wife Daneen of Thicket. Carol Flanigan and husband Don of Orange. Four granddaughters. Haley Parks and husband Will of Huxley. Rachel Noack and husband Darrel of Thicket. Malorie Flanigan of Orange and Whitney Flanigan of Orange. Four Great grandchildren, Easton, Rhett, and Bryce Parks of Huxley and Carsyn Noack of Thicket. Three sisters, Margia Cutaia of Orange, Martha and Jim Rogers of Orange, and Patsy and Mike McDonald of Porter. Sister-in-Laws, Linda Oswalt of Bridge City, Peggy James and Shirley Fisher of Orange, and Jo-Ann Henderson of Silsbee.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Oswalt, Brent McDonald, Kreig Oswalt, Kyle Oswalt, Kevin Oswalt, Darwin Brack, Dan Brack, and Ronnie Peveto.
