Jack Marion Lawrence, 78, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009 at Dubuis Hospital of Port Arthur.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Simmons of Maranatha Christian Center. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 pm, Monday, at the funeral home.
Jack was born on July 18, 1930, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the son of Frank Marion Lawrence and Doris Camille Dowell Lawrence. Jack loved boating, attending church, and spending time with family and friends. Jack was a production supervisor for Bayer where he worked for 24 years before retirement. He was a member in the Orange Boating Club and the VFW Post 2775. He was also a Golden Glove Boxing champion in the 1950's then turned professional prior to entering the Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Lawrence; daughter, Tonya Suggs and her husband Johnny of Orange; son, James Lawrence and his wife Tina of Orange; grandchildren, Miranda Lawrence, Farrin Lawrence; and brother, John Lawrence.
