Jack Sidney Mitcham
Jack Sidney Mitcham, 60, of Orange, passed away on July 14, 2014, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church, 2402 Western Ave., West Orange, TX 77630.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on December 26, 1953, he was the son of Thomas William Mitcham and Annie Lou (Hudson) Mitcham. Jack is a former U.S. Marine and worked in the auto industry as a paint and body specialist. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. Jack’s dream was to move into the mountains and be a “Mountain Man”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas William Mitcham. Jack is survived by his mother, Annie Lou Mitcham; son, Justin Mitcham and wife, Sheila; granddaughter, Melissa Mitcham; brother, Rick Mitcham; sister, Debra Mitcham Uetz and husband, Russ; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.
Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

I have some great memories of time with my cousin, Jack, from our childhood. We were only 4 months apart in age. He went on many vacation trips with my family so I would have someone to do things with, and we spent quite a few nights camping out in the woods behind their house in Lumberton. We had a lot of holiday family dinners together, and he and I did a lot of errands together for our grandfather. We had not seen each other since his Dad's funeral, but I am shocked and greatly saddened by his death.
