Jack Hampton Peveto, 82, of Orange, passed away on June 24, 2021, at his home in Orange.
Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Damon Bickham. Burial will take place at a later date at Parish Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on March 1, 1939, he was the son of Louis Rubenstein Peveto and Gladys Peveto (Wilson). Jack was was a hard working machinist for many years at Levingston Shipyard and Owens Illinois and retired from Temple Inland. He was also a great handyman, always having a project or fixing something up. Along with being a Jack of all trades and the “go to guy”, he also enjoyed woodworking. Jack loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Rubenstein Peveto and Gladys Peveto (Wilson); daughter, Katherine Louise Peveto; brothers, Sam Peveto, Donald Peveto, and Johnny Norwood; sisters, Ruby Brown and Louise Pitcher; and granddaughter, April Dana.
He is survived by his children, Allen Ray Peveto and wife Patricia of Deweyville, Douglas Warren Peveto of Missouri, James Edward Peveto of Kirbyville, and Tommy Christopher Allen and wife Laura of Orange; grandchildren, Brittney, Heather, Robert, Phillip , Ashley, Brandon, Anthony, Jace, Jordan, Cara, Tishona, Allen, and Cheyne; great-grandchildren, Corbin, Melody, Clayton, Rachelle, Makayla, Alex, Adrianna, Katelyn, Emily, Barrett, and Dawson; and sibling, Evelyn Goodman, Lewis Peveto, and Norma Toohey.
