Jacquelyn King Maddox, 82, of Beaumont died Thursday, July 14 in St. Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Galveston, to the late Walter c. and Agnes Ryals King, Jackie was a longtime resident of Beaumont.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel. Officiating will Father Stephen McCrate, longtime family friend of the family. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a vigil at 6:00 p.m.
Since the age of 3, Jackie has entertained many with her dancing, costumes, and natural beauty. She attended Ursuline Academy and was crowned Miss Galveston 1945.
Jackie wed in 1954 to the late Marvin Maddox of Hillister. She was retired Counselor and teacher of MSGR, Kelly High School.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon and Bert Turner, Marilyn Roach and Sean and Julie and Donald Gunnels; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
