James Loran Berry, Jr.
James Loran Berry, Jr., 81, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023, in Beaumont, TX.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Wellborn Cemetery in Wellborn, Texas. Officiating will be Tony Pulliam, along with Freddie Anderson and Garry Berry.
James Loran Berry, Jr. was born in Corsicana, TX, November 16, 1942, to James Loran Berry, Sr. and Jewell M. (Hellum) Berry. James was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. He was a welder by trade, and after training in Waco at a trade school, he came to Orange to work for Levingston Ship Building. James loved the Lord and God’s Word. He served as a Deacon at Ninth & Elm Church of Christ, preached, directed benevolence and visitation. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Jewell Berry; his brother, L.A. Berry; and his daughter, Jennifer Berry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Redman Berry; daughter, Stacy Middleton and husband, Robert; grandson, Ethan Smith; granddaughter, Madelyn Smith; brother, Garry Berry and wife, Tammi; nieces, Burklee and husband, Clint, Katie, and Carlye.
