James Harold Cagle

James Harold Cagle, 68, lifelong resident of West Orange, Texas, passed away on October 20, 2019, in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Orange, Texas, on January 23, 1951, he was the son of Charles Winston Cagle and Louise Elizabeth Bass Cagle. James was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in West Orange and spent many years working in shipping for Temple Inland. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved animals, especially his cows and chickens. James enjoyed spending his spare time at the local coffee shop with his friends and creating memories with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Louise Cagle.

He is survived by his loving girlfriend, Carolyn Smith, of Orange; children, James Cagle and wife Renee, of Mauriceville, Jennifer Cagle and Greg Sturgeon, of Union City, TN, Jennings Cagle, of South Fulton, TN, Savannah Cagle, of Orange, and Mason Cagle, of Orange; grandchildren, Lexi Kirby, Amber Lemon, Addi Cagle, Kasyn Sturgeon, Josh Womack, and Jimmy Womack; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Cagle, Kinley Kirby, and Braxton Kirby; and his brother, Charlie Cagle and wife Judy, of Orange.

Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

I was so sorry to hear about James. He was such a kind, gentle-spirited man. Prayers of comfort are extended to all the family during this time of loss. To Carolyn, my heart hurts for you. I'm glad I had the opportunity to know James through you. He was always so kind to me and I will always remember him smiling. God's Blessings to all.
