James D. "Jamie" Venable, of Orange, Texas, died, January 3, 2009 in Orange.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.
Interment will be held at Gilbert Community Cemetery in Gilbert, AR.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Jamie was born November 12, 1947 in Madisonville, TX to Hubert and Irene Venable who preceded him in death. Jamie was a Viet Nam War veteran. For many years he operated Jamie Venable Photography in Orange. He was a 1995 graduate of Lamar Institute of Technology and a safety professional. Jamie was well known in the petro-chemical industry for his professionalism and fairness. More than one man owes his job to him. Jamie had a huge heart and was kind and forgiving. Those who were loved by him will forever mourn his passing.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Earlene; son, Adam; sister, Rita Hughes and husband Carl; their children, Joel Hughes and Ashli Richards, and great-nephew, Brandon Hughes. He is also survived his cousin, Larry Whitley.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Carl Hughes, Joel Hughes, Larry Whitley, Kenny McKeness, Johnny Phillips, and Freddie Williford.
