James H. "Jim" Swearengin, 94, of Sour Lake, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2010. Jim was born May 13, 1015 in Malvern, AR to Isom Terrell and Johnnie Anna Swearengin. He was married to his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 69 years, Frances June Swearengin.
Jim retired from Sun Oil Company and was also the previous co-owner of Accurate Lathe Works, Inc. of Sour Lake. He was a Mason in good standing with the lodges in DeRidder, LA and Sour Lake, TX.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins with Rev. Robert Besser officiating. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Frances June Swearengin; brothers Paul, Fern, Marvin and Sammy Jack; and sisters Gladys, Vergie, Margie, and Jean. He is survived by his sister, Ida Belle Hassel of Irving; daughter Clara Jo Page of Sour Lake, daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Jerry Tullier of Fannett, son and daughter-in-law, Dobie and Stacie Swearengin of Pinewood, daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Greg Byrd of Sour Lake; grandchildren Jodie Meaux and husband, Chris of Port Neches, Janna Page of Sour Lake, Joel Page of Sour Lake, Steven Tullier and wife, Stacy of Beaumont, Allan Tullier of Fannett, Lisa Tullier of Moore, OK, Amy Butler and husband, Beau of Beaumont, Dillon Swearengin of Austin, Zack West of Sour Lake, Alex West of San Marcos, Mandy Do and husband Tom of Austin, and Meagan Byrd of The Woodlands; great-grandchildren, Adam and Alex Meaux, Dustin Pelton, Chaz and Chelsie Page, Kylee and Aaron Tullier and Bryce Butler.
