James “Jamie” Edward Harris, 85, of Orange, passed away on September 4, 2019, at his home.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday September 8, at Matinburg Cemetery in Pittsburg, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Henry Suche.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Pittsburg, Texas, on August 11, 1934, he was the son of Taylor Edward Harris and Hazel May (Carpenter) Harris. James proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a lab tech for DuPont and retired after many years. James loved fishing and gardening in his spare time. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. James was a devoted Christian man and lived a simple life. His main focus was his family and he loved his dogs very much. James will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Hazel Harris; sisters, Nancy Virginia DeLaney, and Patsy Woods
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Marcia Harris; daughters, Pamela Kail Falgout and husband Rudy of Seabrook, Rebecca Gail Blissett and husband Mark of League City, and Sherri Renee Gonzales and husband Rocky of Orange; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; sister Dr. Bettye Harris Herlocker Gilbert of Winnsboro.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Gonzales, Mark Blissett, Rudy Falgout, David Finto, Justin Rizzari, Marcus Blissett, Dane Book, Hunter Gonzales, and Ian Finto.
