A Life Remembered

Obituary

James Ray Harrison

James Ray Harrison, 67, of Orange, Texas, passed away on August 30, 2026, in Bronson, Texas.

Born in Orange, Texas, on August 19, 1959, James was the beloved son of Jay Clifton Harrison and Bertha Marie Harrison. He took great pride in the life he built and the people he loved. He cherished his wife, who was his partner and best friend and adored his children and grandchildren deeply. He was a hardworking and devoted man who dedicated 43 years of his life to working at Printpack. He was an avid fisherman. Fishing was not only a hobby, but something that truly brought him joy. The water was his second home, whether casting alone in peaceful solitude or sharing the boat with family and friends, those hours filled him with a quiet happiness that few other things could match. If you were ever lucky enough to eat his fried fish, you knew you were in for something special.

James will be remembered most for his genuine kindness, his unconditional love, his fun-loving spirit and unwavering loyalty. His big heart, helping hand, and gentle character will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Bertha Harrison.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 14 years, Linda Harrison; his three children, Ryan Harrison of Orange, TX; Rendi (JJ) Garcia of Port Neches, TX; and Jaycie (Taylor) Smith of Port Neches,TX. His grandchildren Paysli Hufford, Otto Garcia, Sage and Scottie Smith. Siblings Pat Coit of Orange, TX and Glenda Mello of Orange, TX.
