James Hunter Beaty, 68, of Bridge City, died April 9, 2007.
A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Waldrop Cemetery in Panola County. Reverend Marvin Howland will be officiating.
Visitation will be 5:00- 7:00 p.m. Friday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Mr. Beaty was born in Orange, TX and had resided in Bridge City since 1991. He was a retired Major from the U.S. Army. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #1345 of Bridge City, a Scottish Rite Mason of Galveston, and a York Rite Mason of Beaumont. He was also a lifetime member of the Veteran?s of Foreign Wars, the American Legion Post #49 and the Military Officers Association of America.
Mr. Beaty was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Curtis and Agnes Putnam Broussard Beaty and aunt, Fanny Beaty.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes Belew Beaty of Bridge City, son, Jamie Beaty, of Lawton, OK; daughters Jennifer Elbert and husband Mike of Lawton, OK, Jessica Willingham and husband Charlie of St. Louis, MO, and Julie Bone and husband Steven of Cypress, TX; two stepchildren Deborah Hardin and husband Billy of Orange, and Woody Cox and wife Kim of Buna, TX; eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and brother Al Booth of Virginia Beach, VA.
The family suggest Memorial Contributions be made to the Bridge City Masonic Lodge #1345 Scholarship Fund.
