Pastor James Allen Lynch, 83, of Deweyville, Texas, passed away on January 7, 2021, in Port Arthur, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Ronnie Hennigan. Burial will follow at The Cemetery in Mauriceville, Texas.
Born on January 30, 1937, he was the son of Dallas Tillman Lynch and Florena (Eddins) Lynch. James proudly served the country in the United States Air Force. He dedicated himself to living for the Lord and was a longtime pastor and evangelist. James found great joy in singing, playing guitar, and writing music. He and a group of friends had a fondness for playing together for the residents in different nursing homes. James was a compassionate man who loved others and never met a stranger. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Florena Lynch; his son, Martin “Marty” Allen Lynch; as well as his siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Juanita Lynch of Deweyville; his children, Patricia Craig and husband Steven of Richmond and Wesley Tillman Lynch and wife Pamela of Orange; his sister, Clara “Aunt Neal” Odom of Deweyville; his grandchildren, Steven Rae Craig and wife Jenny, Stephanie Farrell and husband Cameron, Nathanael Tillman Lynch and wife Jordan, Kimberly Lynch, Michael Lynch and wife Amber, Derek Lynch, and Chris Lynch; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Craig, Cameron Farrell, Nathanael Lynch, Gary Burch, Pete Wyatt, Eli Wyatt. Honorary pallbearer is Jonathan Odom.
