Graveside services for James M. Jones, 86, of Sour Lake, TX will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rosedale Cemetery in Sour Lake with Brother Dave Valleau officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones was born February 16, 1923 to Mitchell and Ida Jones and passed away on November 18, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He valiantly served his country in the Army during WWII and was awarded two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
He is preceded in death by hi wife, Bessie, and one brother. Those left to cherish his memory are daughters, Betty Marie Johnston of Silsbee, Patricia Ann Lopez, Jerry Wilcox and Jacky Johnston; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister.
