James Samuel “Jimmy” Carter, III
James Samuel “Jimmy” Carter, III, 56, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 28, 2019, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Albert Champagne and Cole Clark. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Waycross, Georgia, on July 12, 1962, he was the son of James Samuel Carter, Jr. and Carol Grace (Elliott) Carter. Jimmy worked as an operator in the wood yard at International Paper for 36 years. He enjoyed spending his free time bass fishing and being with family and friends. Jimmy was the baby of the family and was always happy with a smile on his face. He truly enjoyed life and wanted everyone around him to be happy. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Carter; sister, Linda Grace Carter Hall; and his brother-in-law, Sam Hall.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Becky Waldrep Carter; son, James Riley Carter, of Kirbyville; step-son, Jody Harrison, of Jasper; grandchildren, Tracen Harrison and Brexley Harrison, of Jasper; sisters, Sherrie Carter Gonzalez and husband Herman, of Mauriceville and Terry Carter Morgan and husband Robert Allen, of Jasper; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris McDonald, Jody Bailey, Boogie LaFosse, Tommy Ferguson, Eric Wozniak, and Randy Sparks. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Smith, Johnny Breaux, James Tidwell, John Trahan, and Dewayne Duck.
