James E. “Cowboy” Segura passed away on February 4, 2019, in Beaumont, Texas. He was born to Lydia LeBoeuf and Francis Segura June 4, 1933, and lived 85 years to the fullest.
After graduation from French High School, he went into the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He enjoyed gardening, hunting fishing and antiquing. He also enjoyed football, NASCAR and loved computers. Many life-long friends were made through many of these interests. Even with his creative “Jack of All Trades” talents, his family above all was his proudest achievement. He was our “Papa Bear.” Jim retired from Goodyear Chemical in 1995 where he was a Utilities Operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Aaron Segura; brother, Sidney Lee (C.D.) Segura; sister, Mary Ann Milner (Fertitta); father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Myrna Stanley.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jeri Segura; daughters, Laurie Beth Wilcox (Kenneth), Jamie Lynn Rayner (Michael). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Dana, Jay and Mark Fertitta, Rodney Lee Segura (Sarah), Shelley Amador (Daniel); brother-in-law, Norman Stanley and wife, Carol; sister-in-law, Darlene Cassidy (Rusty) and sister-in-law, Patricia Eubanks.
He is also survived by his wonderful grandchildren, Kenny Wilcox (Krissy), Kathryn Wilcox, Annsleigh Kelley, James Dalton (J.D.) Segura and Hunter Rayner (Adriana).
We will miss this tremendously giving man with a wonderful sense of humor, wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Love You. Love You.
A memorial service will be 2:00pm, Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont with visitation at 1:00pm.
