Jane Dickerson, 80, of Orange, passed away on November 21, 2020, in Orange.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Murray Ray.
Born in Lafayette, Louisiana, on May 27, 1940, she was the daughter of John Enos Hanks and Ida (Kibodeaux) Hanks. Jane served as past President over the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered through the VA in Houston. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. Jane was a dedicated and nurturing mother and grandmother and held her family close to her heart. She was lovingly referred to as “Old Granny” and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond compare. Jane will be deeply missed by all those who came to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Hanks, sisters, Betty Joice Brock and Francis Groff; and infant sister, Blanch Hanks.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Russell “Richard” Dickerson; children, Russell Richard “Ricky” Dickerson Jr. of Orange, and Edith Naomi Reese and husband Ned of Orange; grandchildren, Janey Schwegel and husband Michael of Huffman, Stacy Trammell of Beaumont, and Blaine O’Quin of Vinton, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Naomi Fells, Taya Fells, Tegan Schwegel, Aiden Taylor, Jaxon Taylor, and Sophia Trammell; and siblings, John Enos Hanks, Jr. and wife Georgia of Orange, and Loretta Hanks and husband Jack of Missouri.
