Janet C. Bryan
Janet C. Bryan, 61, of Beaumont, was born October 9, 1945 in Beaumont, Texas and went to be with her Lord on June 9, 2007 in Houston, Texas. Janet was a lifelong resident of Beaumont and a graduate of Beaumont High School. She worked at the Beaumont State Center now Spindletop MHMR Services from 1971 until health concerns led to her retirement in 2007. Through contracts with area businesses, Janet lovingly taught academic and vocational skills to many people with mental challenges.
She was a devoted and active member of Calvary Baptist Church where she volunteered in various children?s ministries. Janet was famous for her recipe for ?spicey-sweet? pickles which she loved sharing with friends. Her sweet, loving spirit will be missed by her many friends and the very special people she worked with during her career.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Randy Bryan of Beaumont; sister-in-law, Ellen Shepherd of Sugarland; brother-in-law, Richard Bryan of Austin; and niece and nephew Julie and Sid Myers of Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack M. and Margaret Atwood Lowe and her twin sister, Jane ?Teester? Lowe.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Richard Coward officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
