J.B. Walker, 72, of Orange, died Friday, August 14, 2009, at Baptist Orange Hospital.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City, with Bud Davis officiating. The eulogy will be given by Billy Allen.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
J.B. was born January 21, 1937, St. Joseph, Louisiana. He was the son of Allen Eugene Walker and Annie Regina Cupit Walker. J.B. owned and operated James Walker Formica Services. He was a certified peace officer with the Orange County Sheriff Department and worked security at the courthouse. J.B. was also a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Norwood Walker of Orange; son, James B. Walker, II and his wife
Sherry of Orange; daughter, Jane Walker Hutto of Austin; son, Joey Walker and his wife Shirley of Orange; daughter, Jennifer Chauvin and her husband Tim of Bridge City.
J.B. is also survived by his four grandchildren, Keely Walker, Brenna Price and her husband Ron, Jess Walker and his wife Ramona and Logan Walker; three great-grandchildren, Sidney Holderman, Caitlyn Price and Ava Walker; and siblings, Allen Walker and his wife Mary of Nederland, Arnold Walker and his wife Betty of West Monroe, LA, Daniel Walker and his wife Barbara of West Monroe, LA, Julia Harrell and her husband Mike of Clayton, LA and Charles Walker and his wife Jan of Farmersville, LA.
