Mary “Jean” Rogers Bost, 89, of Beaumont entered her final classroom on September 1, 2016. Jean was born and raised in Malakoff, Texas, one of nine children born to William E. and Lura Tarrant Rogers. She married David L. Bost, Sr. and moved to Beaumont, Texas where she graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Biology. Jean later received her Masters degree in Biology from East Texas State University. She taught at French High School for 28 years, then at Central High School and, after a brief retirement, finished her teaching career at Kelly High School. Jean was very active in her profession and served as President of the Beaumont Classroom Teachers Association as well as the Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society. She travelled extensively after retirement including trips to all of Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China and the Galapagos Islands. She is survived by her sister Audrey Ferguson and brother Regan Rogers, both of Malakoff, Texas. Also by sons David L. Bost, Jr. and wife Toni, Brent W. Bost and wife Jennifer, grandchildren Amanda Hutchens, her husband John and their son Graham, Neal and wife Erin, Lisa, Andrea, Regina, Stephen and Thomas Bost.
A reception celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, September 18 at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont from 1 – 3 p.m.
