Obituary
Friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. The service will be officiated by Reverend Mike Umbenhaur, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Orange.
An additional visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, Mississippi on Friday, March 27, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. followed by a service of committal at Union Church Cemetery in Gloster.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Youens, Donald DeMoss, Harold Day, Ron McCabe, Damon McCabe and Tim Hughes.
Ina Jean was born in Gloster, Mississippi on March 23, 1938. She was the daughter of James Lewell McCabe and Lennie C. (Freeman) McCabe. She was a former resident of Gloster and had lived in Orange since 1963.
She retired from West Orange-Cove CISD where she was a guidance counselor. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, American Association of University Women, Daughters of the American Revolution and First Presbyterian Church in Orange.
Preceded in death by her parents, James Lewell and Lennie McCabe and brothers, Ronald McCabe and Lavon McCabe, Ina Jean is survived by her husband, Randolph S. Knipp; son, Chuck Knipp, both of Orange; and her brother, Dalton McCabe of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Ina Jean will be remembered best for the valiant grace with which she handled her disability and health issues, her boundless generosity, love of working with children, classy style, smile and witty and original sense of humor.
The family wishes to especially thank Sister Brenda Honeycutt, RN of Southeast Texas Hospice, for her tender care and outstanding commitment to Mrs. Knipp’s comfort in her final days.
